  • Scott McCartney

    Managing Director

    Scott, a proud Wotjobaluk man from Western Victoria, brings vast experience in launching start-ups and driving small to medium enterprises. As the former CEO of the largest First Nations Business Chamber of Commerce, he has played a pivotal role in amplifying the footprint of First Nations business locally and Nationally

    A prominent entrepreneur, Scott’s ventures span construction, civil works, VET, and facilities management. He serves as Economic Advisor to the Barengi Gadjin Land Council and a director of the Dream a Dream Foundation.

    With a strong corporate network and innovative leadership, Scott excels at building partnerships, solving complex challenges, and fostering high-performing teams.

  • Katherine Kavakos

    Partner/Director

    Katherine has been in the commercial cleaning industry for over 30 years. She joined her father-in law’s business Skyway Group in 1990 and worked her way up to an executive role in 1997. There she perfected her strategic and business development skills and was directly responsible for Skyway’s accelerated growth, improving revenue from $300,000 to $30,000,000 turnover in five years.

    Katherine tendered, won and maintained many blue chip clients across iconic brands in all segments including Industrial, hospitality, corporate and government.

    She co-established AIA Group in 2012 and is continuing to make a difference in the industry through her innovative and forward-thinking approach to developing customer-centric client solutions.

    She is passionate about gender and cultural diversity, sustainability and is also a Partner in First People Property Group, an Indigenous Supply Nation registered cleaning and facilities business.

    Katherine holds a Diploma of Teaching from RMIT and is a member of the Directors Institute.

    Ian has more than 30 years’ experience across Construction, Property and Facilities Management industry holding CEO and senior Executive roles that covered Australia's largest , high profile and mission critical ventures.

    His Executive roles at Broadspectrum  (Formerly Transfield Services) for a decade covered businesses that served Defence, Infrastructure, Property and Resource sector.

    This experience is complemented by his role as CEO then Chairman of Australia's largest independent property and project management company APP. 

    Ian brings his wealth of experience to FPPG to provide strategic, commercial and delivery expertise.

    Known for his energetic and focused approach, George is adept at guiding organisations through complex operational and transitional management while enhancing contractual efficiency and driving market growth.

    Having previously held senior positions of National General Manager at major facilities management companies, George brings a breadth of operational and people management experience to FPPG. George is not only a strategic thinker but also a skilled communicator who excels in building and maintaining partnerships.

    Committed to continuous improvement, George engages in professional development and industry associations, ensuring he remains at the forefront of emerging trends and best practices.

  • Chris Kavakos

    Director of Operations

    Chris has over 35 years of experience in the commercial cleaning industry, having learned the business from his father Steve Kavakos. After finishing school Chris worked with the Ministry of Housing and gained vast experience of the property business. In 1995 Chris took over the family business, Skyway Group. He successfully grew the company to a recognised and highly credible national business through an unwavering commitment to being a trusted, credible and innovative service provider. 

    He co-founded AIA in 2012 and continues to use his reputation and track record of success to grow the business and while focusing on innovation and sustainability in his delivery of client needs.

    Chris consistently goes above and beyond client expectations, winning the prestigious Exxon Mobile no claims award (from the USA). He has been a proud annual recipient of the Boma Hospitality Awards for nearly a decade.

    He continues to support a number of charities and foundations and generously contributes towards making a difference for physical, social and economic disadvantaged children.
